Realme 5 Pro and Realme X receive updates with December 2019 security patches and more

Early this month, Realme started rolling out ColorOS 6 updates for its devices with the Android security patches for December 2019. Realme 1 and U1 were the first to receive the latest security updates from Google and the devices were soon followed by the Realme 3 Pro. The company then rolled out updates for the Realme XT and C2 with the security patches and a couple of minor changes. Now, Realme has started rolling out similar updates for the Realme 5 Pro and the Realme X.

The latest ColorOS 6.0 update for the Realme 5 Pro (v. RMX1971EX_11_A.15) not only includes the Android security patches for December 2019, but also brings some changes to the notifications center, nightscape algorithm for the front camera, and a new flash on call feature. Here’s the official changelog for the latest ColorOS update for the device:

• Security:
  • Android security patch: December, 2019
• System:
  • Added click the blank area to back to the launcher on recent task interface
  • Clone Apps support more third-party applications (Twitter, Freecharge, Zomato, Swiggy, Snapchat)
  • Added flash on call feature
• Notification Center and Status Bar:
  • Added fast switch toggles of dark mode in notification center
• Theme Store:
  • Updated font change supporting in Theme Store
• Camera:
  • Updated nightscape algorithm of front camera, fixed the probabilistic black spot issue
• Known issue fixed:
  • Fixed the issue of low probability of crashing when long press on desktop icon to clear storage usage
  • Fixed a low probability of phone manager crashing when the screen is automatically landscaped
  • Fixed the issue that English is selected in the time zone interface in Hindi

A similar ColorOS 6.0 update is also rolling out to the Realme X, however, it doesn’t include as many changes. The update brings the Android security patches for December 2019 and fixes a known issue. Here’s the complete changelog for the ColorOS 6.0 update (v. RMX1901EX_11_A.11) for the Realme X:
